Is it possible to obtain a home mortgage loan after you retire, what are the requiremtns?

It most certainly is possible. You must simply "qualify" for the mortgage, based on your income and/or what collateral you may post (CD’s, bank accounts, etc.). You can also discuss a Reverse Mortgage with your lender. Banks cannot discriminate based on age. Call a lender of your choice and discuss their mortgage programs with them. And shop around. All lenders (and their fees) are different. I had an 80-some year old couple get a 30-year mortgage one time!

  1. If the amount you seek can be covered by the amount of income, then yes. Banks do not care the source of the money as long as they get paid. -
