what to do in this situation?

I received a phone call the other day from a mortgage company in North Carolina wanting to talk to me about a guy who my ex fiance’ is living with he does not even really know me enough to use me as a reference and besides he just refinanced his home about 6 weeks ago. To me this looks like something my ex would do and I am asking should I contact him to find out what is going on why they are calling me about him or could it be just another one of her games she has been playing with me for the past 4 months?

Games people play – Don’t lose any sleep over this one. Just forget it. Don’t respond to the phone call. Just forget it.

I would call him and ask why a mortgage company is calling me for a reference. If he doesn’t know anything about it, it should at least put him wise to the fact that she is doing things behind his back. If he does know about it, I would kindly request that he not use me as a reference in the future.

  6. Just tell them you don’t know the man well enough to give a refference for him. That way you’re aren’t hurting him OR helping him and he’s got nothing to come back at u for.

  8. First of all a mortgage company would not be calling you for a reference, it’s a debt collector. A debt collector sometimes uses this method (I feel it is highly unethical) of contacting anyone they can it get their money. Your ex must have been put on the application for a business reference and somehow the collection agency got your information. If they call you again tell them not to call you or you will file a complaint with your States Attorney Generals office. Debt collectors are devious.

  10. go with what celticagent and Sherry C say…the so-called mortgage company is using you and it has nothing to do with you. tell them to stop calling or else you’ll contact the attorney general’s office, don’t contact the ex, and unless there are children involved or you live in the same area, get a new telnum and forget about her….

  11. How are we supposed to answer that question!!!??? We do not know the "games" that she is playing and we do not know what the mortage company wants.

You have two choices. If you want to know what they want, then call. If you do not care, then do not call!
